After a crappy start to the year things are looking up.
I've apply for this job...

I've passed the first two hurtles (being the application and physical) and now awaiting mental and medical testing.
I did the physical testing today which is one of the hardest things I've done in a while (in terms of physical testing)
I was required to do;
30 Push ups in 60 seconds
40 Sit ups in 90 seconds (hands on heads)
and a Shuttle run (beep test) minimum of 8.1
Yep, I passed them all. It doesn't look hard but believe me it's physically draining (try it for yourself)
I applied for a branch of the AFP which is called the Protective Service Officers which look like these guys.
(RAA troops on the right and PSO's on the left deployed at Solomon Islands Riots April 2006)
They're usually placed on Major Australian airports or Commonwealth establishments (embassies, houses) around Australia but can be deployed Overseas... I hope I don't get placed at Darwin or Perth... I hope it's Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne...
Almost the same powers as state police...more info
hereAlso get to ride in one of these.

Yay!
Might be a little to early to celebrate but it's raised my spirits up!
I find it a bit odd that the NSW Police Force rejected my application but the Australian Federal Police accepted my application...
Also visited the Australian War Memorial (only suppose to stay for an hour but ended up being 3, very moving and interesting) and the Australian Police Honor Memorial for the officers who have fallen in the line of duty.

By Night

By Day
Anyways, I better sleep...so buggered from today. Wish me luck on my application!!!
